Strength & Conditioning
This service is provided as a 60-minute 1-on-1 service using our gym under the supervision and guidance of our Physio and specialist strength and conditioning consultant. This can also be known as a personal training session but here we follow a structured program with the aim to engage in training (a microdose or part of a bigger long-term program) in following a linear progression stress/adaptation model. This is not one of those go to your local personal trainers and do some fast-paced circuit just to get your heart beating and tick a box for the day. Our sessions are structured and build onto the next session within the program.
If your focus is on increasing strength, then you’ve come to the right place. If you want to increase your metabolic capacity, you’ve come to the right place. We design strength and conditioning programs to improve these! Currently, new patients go through the Form Check protocol to establish their baseline numbers and have follow-ups and reviews. Bookings can be made here
For conditioning programs: you go out in the field to gather some baseline data. Your program is created from these numbers, where you will be pushed beyond your limits, but the results will leave you with the best pre-season training you’ve ever had!
“The programs’ needs, need to be satisfied…it is not personal!”
What it is!
-a micro session within a bigger program structure, following a specific number of sets and reps and obtaining the prescribed volume for the session that day
-supervised and scrutinised form, rep by rep
-education of movement and physical adaptation, awareness of how your body moves and the progression of strength through your connective tissue and assisting in the reduction of injury risk
What it’s not!
-a picnic to chat
-a bunch of ‘fluff’ exercises that won’t help you, won’t get you stronger and won’t teach you anything
-a place to make excuses or be a victim
Pros:
-learn strength training fast!
-get strong quick!
-understand how your body moves and what it is capable of
-accelerated lifelong learning
-smash through self-limiting beliefs and rise above what non-sense you've ever been told about lifting a barbell
-unleash a confidence that no one can ever take from you!
Cons:
-must be dedicated to weekly training sessions
-can be pricey
-long-term commitment
-won’t see your friends, family or kids *just joking – this is the time to focus on one program and not to be distracted by other exercises pulling you away from your strength gains!
*Typically, a 6-month commitment is required, with extra training sessions to be done in your own time
**NOT eligible for private health rebates
